Outfit grids and outfit layouts are not only a popular format of pictures on Instagram, but also the top trending hashtags. These type of pictures are captured from a birds eye view. There are many ways to be creative and take these pictures so that they don’t look “boring” or “original.”
My favourite thing to do with my birds eye outfit pictures is add accessories and books to the picture. Accessories always make a picture so much better. Not only do people want to see your clothes, they want to see the accessories you have styled with your outfit. Books on the other hand, are something that most people don’t use in outfit posts, however I find it to be an excellent way to get more likes and to be different.
I’m always reading fashion books and what better way to take a fashion picture than adding a fashionable book into the mix. There is usually a book in my purse at all times and I always have the chance at some point throughout my day to reach in and start reading, even if that may be only for fifteen minutes on my break at work.
Some of my favourite fashion books are:
1. Paris Street Style by Isabelle Thomas
2. Alexander McQueen by Judith Watt
3. The Dress by Megan Hess
And there are many more including my collection of big photography books on Marilyn Monroe, Audrey Hepburn, Alexander McQueen, Vogue Models and my all time favourite, Influence by Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen.
