TALENTED FASHION DESIGNER KATE SPADE DIES AT 55

American Fashion Designer Kate Valentine, professionally known as Kate Spade, was found dead this morning Tuesday, June 5, at a Manhattan apartment. According to news outlets, the famous designer and businesswoman had hung herself by a scarf tied to a doorknob in an apparent suicide. The New York Police Department rushed to Kate’s apartment around 10:00 AM after receiving a call from Kate’s housekeeper who found a suicide note.

At this time, the note is kept as evidence and has not been revealed. According to People Magazine, “In a statement to the New York Daily News, Spade’s family said they are “devastated by today’s tragedy.”

“We loved Kate dearly and will miss her terribly. We would ask that our privacy be respected as we grieve during this very difficult time.”

Before becoming a well-known designer in the industry, Kate Spade worked as a fashion editor. Her company Kate Spade New York first started in 1993 and has grown into a massive fashion empire known for its beautifully crafted and colorful handbags, accessories, clothing, and shoes. The brand originally began with selling nylon handbags and later evolved to include with ready-to-wear clothes, accessories and more.

Many fans and women around the world are devastated by the loss of this talented designer and critical figure in the fashion industry. Kate Spade was and will remain an icon in fashion.
